Desert Safari Photoset

Back in January of 2023, I transited through Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates while flying to Sydney from London.

Abu Dhabi is a vibrant city with its unique blend of modernity and tradition, making it an incredible destination to explore. Many photographers choose to visit the iconic Etihad Towers or the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, but I felt like experiencing something a little more adventurous in the form of a safari through the desert.

Digital Film Photography.

Film photography is often cherished for several reasons. Film possesses a unique aesthetic quality characterized by its grain structure, color rendition, and tonal range, which many photographers, including myself, find appealing. This distinctive look can imbue images with a sense of authenticity and nostalgia, evoking a timeless feel.

But shooting film is so expensive!

Amidst the rising prices of traditional film, many photographers are choosing to emulate the look and feel of film digitally. This approach is precisely what I opted for during my time in the desert. The filmic style of editing complemented the blues, oranges, and yellows of the landscape exceptionally well (in my opinion, of course!).

He was very conscientious and understanding when I wanted to change things and I'm delighted with the end result.
